What's New This Month :
We’ve been working hard to make the Chamber Affiliate launch successful, but we’ve had time for some other new features and promotions as well. As always, stop on by the Chamber at any time to check them out.
Chamber Directory :
The Chamber of E-Commerce has moved our directory of contact information of all of the brick and mortar chambers across the nation on to the homepage. Now you can find our comprehensive directory more easily. If you aren’t a member of your local chamber of commerce, you should consider joining yours now, and if you are a member, please check our entry to make sure that we’re providing the current contact information for your chamber.
Free Chamber Websites:
The Chamber Directory isn’t the only program that we’re offering to local brick and mortar chambers. The Chamber of E-Commerce, recognizing the importance of internat commerce and a strong web presence for all businesses, is providing any local Chamber of Commerce with a free website and free web hosting. If the chamber already has a website, we’ll host it for them, and any chambers that don’t have a website can use our powerful site creator to make their own site for free! Again, if you or anyone that you know is a member of a chamber of commerce, be sure to pass this information along so that your chamber can take advantage of this.
Populated Product Catalog:
All members of the Chamber of Commerce can now add items from our massive catalog of products that are available for drop shipping. Simply select from 250,000 name brand items that you would like to add to your store, and then when your customers buy the item off your site it will be shipped to them from our affiliate’s warehouse. Imagine being able to offer name brands such as: Gerber, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Nokia, Chanel, and SONY to your customers.
Email Accounts:
All Chamber members get an e-mail address that they can use on our site or have forwarded to their main account, allowing them to easily set up an email @ChamberECommerce.com for all of their business needs.
Log in to your account at the Chamber of E-Commerce or join today to make use of any of these great new features.
Building a Better Website, Part II
In last month's newsletter, we continued our series "Building a Better Website". This month, we continue with tips on how to build traffic to your site:
Write a Press Release :
A press release can be read by thousands of people. A well-written one, released through PRWeb or MarketWire, can generate traffic and interest in your company and product. If you are an excellent writer, you can write the release yourself. If the idea of writing a news-worthy piece of journalism gives you the cold sweats, then maybe you should have a talented employee or friend, or a paid freelancer from a place like Elance.com write it for you. This can be expensive, but after you’ve released a story or two, you may find that your site is getting much more traffic.
Speak With Authority:
Establish yourself as an authority on something. If your site has a blog, write up lists, 10 common myths about your business, or tips on how to get something accomplished. For example, if your website sells e-commerce solutions to small businesses across the nation, you might want to release a monthly newsletter that informs business owners how to build a better website. This will get you links, possibly get you on social aggregator sites, and will make potential customers feel better about your company as you clearly know your stuff.
Link to and from Others:
Get links from other businesses that are in complimentary fields, or from blogs that discuss your field (I can guarantee you that someone is writing about what you do for a living, even if it is repossessing derelict oil tankers). Get a link to your site from your local chamber of commerce. If your local chamber doesn’t have a website, let them know that we’ll host one for them for free—and then get a link from their site.
Get a Blog :
We may have mentioned this before, but it remains true. Search engines reward sites that frequently update with relevant information by boosting their prominence in the search engines. Here’s the catch, though: your blog has to be good, and it needs to have relevant commentary. Think about what the keywords that you are looking for searchers to find you by. Make sure that every single blog posting contains one or two of those words—in context. Don’t just slip the word in a sentence to see if anyone’s paying attention.
E-commerce companies are hoping Web video can result in more product sales. Companies like 1-800-Flowers and Blendtec, which sells blenders, are experimenting with video, though they don't know what to expect.
For Valentine's Day, 1-800-Flowers is trying to get its customers to create a "Video Valentine," which lets you upload photos, write messages and choose musical themes and graphics to send to loved ones. Videos can also be posted to several online video sites, which company CEO Jim McCann says he hopes will drive traffic back to 1-800-Flowers.
Taking a tip from the Super Bowl, McCann said the campaign's best videos would be turned into TV spots. Blendtec, meanwhile, created video of the company's CEO blending everything from wood to his own iPod. It posted the videos to the campaign microsite WilItBlend.com, as well as YouTube.
The idea for these e-commerce companies is to move beyond direct marketing. Like many brand marketers these days, these companies are soliciting consumer involvement on the Web to further establish their brands. McCann says these "personal" connections recall the relationships people had with local brick-and-mortar shops 30 years ago. - Read the whole story...

Spotlight On Chamber Affiliate Program:
The Chamber Affiliate Program is the new, best way to generate income off your site. CPC and CPM advertising usually pay you less than three dollars for every thousand hits on your site. You need to be a top-tier website to see any return on your investments of time and effort with a traditional revenue system.
The Chamber Affiliate program is a new way to advertise, though. You will earn an average of 270 dollars for every single person who joins the Chamber of E-Commerce from your site. That means if only one person in a hundred thousand visitors to your site joins us, you’ll be doing just about as well as you would with the other guys.
The Chamber of E-Commerce offers you more than a thirty-three percent commission. You will earn fifteen dollars for every new member that you give us, and then you will earn an additional 15 dollars every month that your visitor remains a member of our program. Members to the Chamber of E-Commerce average at least 18 months with us, which means you will earn an average of nearly three hundred dollars on one successful conversion!
That’s a better deal than you get from virtually any affiliate program except for adult and gaming sites.
If you’re looking for a way to start earning incredible, recurring revenue from your website today, check out ChamberAffiliate.com and get ready to start earning more money right now.
